Who doesn’t like a good DIY Fall Wreath?

Honestly?

It’s beautiful, but the amount of time and money I spent making this thing last year, was a lot. I’m glad I did it, don’t get me wrong. But, this project taught me that sometimes I like going over and above, even if it wasn’t entirely necessary.

So, why am I here?

Well, I am proud of myself, for starters. I made this!!

And, it’s fall and fall makes me happy. My wreath makes me happy and I want to make you happy, so I am showing you my wreath.

You can see the step-by-step process that I followed here. Looking back on it, I didn’t use any of the recommended pipe cleaners (which should come as no surprise to anyone that knows me. I don’t like being told what to do … even if it is directions or a recipe that is for my own good). But the directions were pretty great! I made the wreath over a few nights, sitting on the couch after the kids went to bed. Then I finished it off with a hot glue gun and the chosen fall accessories, everything purchased at Michael’s!

What did I learn following my adventures in wreath making?

I found yet another craft that I like to do (which is one of the main reasons I don’t try too many new crafty things. I like most everything.), but, sadly, it was not cheaper than just buying a wreath for me. Sure, I could have shopped around, found coupons and only bought things on sale. But, see above. My dislike for not liking being told what to do extends to sales and discount shopping. I just don’t have time for that typically. I think I ended up spending around $30-40 for all of the supplies, when a new wreath probably would have been around $40-50.

The stubbornness in me doesn’t mind.

And also kind of wants to do it again for another holiday.

Christmas maybe?

Brown Front Door with Fall Wreath

Welcome, Fall!

My friend Tina and I had actually made Christmas wreathes a few years back, but mine, sadly, didn’t last more than two years. It was a wreath similar to this:

It simply didn’t stand the test of time, hanging outside and being in storage for most of the year.

Are there any things that you like to make or do yourself that you know isn’t necessarily more cost or time-effective, but just plain old makes you feel good?

Do tell!

I also really enjoy making things for people as gifts, but I tend to shy away from it most of the time because I know that people don’t always value home-made gifts as much as I do. Do you?

Would you want a DIY Fall Wreath? Or would you make one?

Tell me all of the details below!

Made with love,

Anya
