I’m feeling a bit off my game today. Chalk it up to a bad sleep, my throat that’s been sore since yesterday or just a blah time of the month/year. Life is not vibing for me today, but there are still dishes to be done, loads of laundry waiting at various stages, kids to be chauffeured and entertained, the usual life stuff.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to share some fun Friday Facts to try and get me back into the swing of things (without resenting what needs to be done ha).

Fact 1

This is the first time I’ve named a post Friday Facts. I’m not sure where it came from. I like alliteration? I also like writing, which brings me to my most proud fact of the day. Between November 1, 2020, and yesterday, I wrote 95,537 words (give or take a few because I did do a little bit of editing after I checked the word count of my next novel). That doesn’t include my blog posts; I somehow managed to write the entire first draft of my next novel in 81 days. And I spent about 4 days before I started writing, planning and outlining the book.

This is a big accomplishment to begin with, but on top of everything, I have only had consistent time to myself to write since Maverick started preschool on January 5.

I still don’t really know where I found the time, but I am very proud to have finished the book that I started in NanoWriMo 2020.

Fact 2

I love the snow, but I hate being cold and am SUPER happy that we don’t get extreme cold weather or snow for too long in the winter where we live. The mountains and snow during the winter are a short drive away, and I like it that way.

Though apparently our yearly Lower Mainland Snowmageddon is on the way and we are expecting snow overnight on Saturday, which is expected to last for a few days. I plan to get groceries tomorrow so that we don’t have to go anywhere while the snow is on the ground. People around here do NOT know how to drive in inclement weather.

Fact 3

I bought the family a Rubik’s cube for Christmas.

What the hell was I thinking?

Okay, it hasn’t been that bad, but I bought the Master (4x4) because I didn’t really know otherwise, and then we went and picked up a 3x3, which Brad solved yesterday!

I don’t know how anyone ever solved these things before You Tube videos came along. I’ve been working away at mine (the dang 4x4) using a video and still haven’t solved it! But I’m getting a better feel for it and hope to finish it soon. My plan is to practice so that I can solve it without a video. One day!

Have I hit a new low, posting a picture of Rubiks Cubes?

Now to finish out the rest of my day—which was supposed to include a trip to Costco—and hopefully include all three of my Friday Facts in the rest of my weekend … some writing, Rubiks-cubing and playing in the snow!

Do you have any plans for the weekend? What’s the weather like where you are?

Happy Friday!

Anya
